From the Path: Today’s Reflections
I'm writing this from the balcony of the little place I'm staying in Pisac. I came out here after dinner intending to write about everything I did today, but I've barely written anything.
The valley is stretched out below me, and the mountains are beginning to disappear into the evening. I can hear people talking somewhere down the street and a dog barking every once in a while. Someone nearby is cooking something that smells incredible. My tea is getting cold beside me because I keep forgetting to drink it.
I don't know why this particular moment is getting to me. Nothing extraordinary is happening. I'm not standing inside a ruin or looking at something I've waited years to see. I'm sitting on a balcony with my journal in my lap, thinking about everywhere I've been over the last several days and all the people I've met along the way.
And right now, I don't want anything else. I don't need to go anywhere. I don't need the evening to become more interesting. I don't even feel like taking a picture. I'm just really happy to be here. :)

Artwork note
The artwork for this first edition of Quni Samiyuq was created with generative AI under my direction. I developed the concept, symbolism, composition, and visual direction for each card through an iterative process.
